Bn Pleco

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL !!!
A friend has just given me a male BN because her female BN has just had fry she is now left with the mother and father BN.
Do they deffinately need bog wood? I feed my fish a varied diet - Blood worm, cucumber, vegetable sinking pellets, flakes, baby brine shrimp and various other vegetables so I was just wondering if bogwood is that important.

I think it is if you want to breed them not sure if its a necessary thing for them to survive

BN's live and breed fine without bogwood

they may graze on it for the biofilm and algae but not the wood itself

Cheers I was getting worried a bit then as I was reading up on soaking the wood so it does not release tannins, Thanks Loads.
