Bn Pleco Not Eatting

I recently acquired a BN Pleco last Monday which is 6 days ago. He hasn't eatten a lot. Only reason I know he has eatten is because all the algae in the tank is gone. I try to feed him algae wafers. I have Wardley ones and Hikari ones. He hasn't touch them. I'm worried because his belly is caving in. Any ideas?

try feeding just before lights out, as they are noturnal

Definitely feed during the night until he's adjusted. Also try cucumber. I have yet to meet a plec that won't eat it.

Other things to try are zucchini, peas, sweet potato (cooked a little). I have heard that rubbing a bit of garlic on the vegetables can also help get them eating. You can even throw in a piece of garlic and he might have a nibble, if he does it is great for the immune system apparently. Just a thought but if he is eating a lot of algae maybe he is just not hungry for anything else right now. Are you sure he is getting thinner 6 days doesn't seem to be long to tell that.

i had the same problem when i got a wild caught pair did not really eat much for a few weeks the gradually picking up and now they are greedy little gits still really shy though onlt see them at feeding time
