i currently have a 125l juwel rio that is planted qite heavily. The stocking is:
8 cardinal tetras
5 rummynose tetras
5 harlequins
4 bronze cories
1 platy
1 rainbow shark (albino and not aggressive)

I use the juwel filtration that comes standard with the tank.

What i would like to know is, could i keep a bristlenose plec or 2 in my tank?

what do they need to be fed and how do i go about caring for them?

please give me all the info that you think i should have as ive never kept a plec before

thanks

Will

you could keep 2 or 3 in there I would think depending what ones you go for, I read that albinos grow smaller than browns but could be wrong althogh my albinos haven't grown anymore than 3inches and I have had them for a while.Just feed them plec tablets and cucumber, just anything that a normal plec eats really.

ah right you have never kept a plec lol. well really a plec will eat whatever is growing on your glass and ornaments, there very good cleaners for there size.My bristlenoses never eat my plec tablets so just put 1 in everytime you feed your other fish and if they eat it just put 1 more in.Also plecs LOVE cucumber, so just cut 1 slice, weight it down and drop it in.

bristlenoses eat the following

Zucchini/Courgette
Cucumber
Peas (deshelled)
Sweet Potato
Green Beans
Melon/Melon rind
Capsicum/Bell pepper.

Cucumber is mainly made up of water so its not very good nutrition wise.
Peas are good for all plecs and fish that will eat them, they have a laxative effect, and when fed weekly, helps keep the intestines etc clear.

Why not get a pair of Bristlenoses, they will easily fit!
