Hey guys, was hoping you could help! One of my 10 bluegill Sunfish fry has turned half grey over the course of 24 hours, any clue what could be wrong? They’ve been fine for over a month now.

Is he behaving normally? Young or non-breeding males turn all sorts of colors, including grey. I've seen one in the wild before just like yours. I think it's completely normal, may even be a hybrid of some sort.

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

Black patches can be from chemical burns. however, the fish in the picture appears to have half its body turn black. That could be stress colouration, night time colours, or it might be a young male colouring up.

Check the water for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH.

Make sure any new water going in the tank is free of chlorine/ chloramine before it's added to the tank.

If it gets worse or the fish starts breathing heavily, post some more pictures and a one minute video.
