Blue Water?

Hi i just started a new tank with sand, i let it settle and switched it on i came back today and my water has a tinge of blue/green i used aquasafe (removes chlorine etc) but i fear that i put too much in. Its not my light thats making it look blue what is it?

You didn't accidentally add an ich treatment did you?? The only thing I can think of thats blue is methylene blue (ich treatment). Certainly aquasafe never turned my water blue....Could it be a reflection from something else? Inside your hood maybe, or a backing??? Or even from your tv or something??How blue is it? Is it fading or getting stronger?

I'm stumped to be honest...If its worrying you and its a small tank I'd take the water out and start over..Water is free, aquasafe cheap

It souns like auasafe too much will not harm the fish or water just turns it blue
should dissipate in a few days

I know I did it the first time got gals and litres mixed up lol

thanks i think i got gallons and litres mixed up if i put carbon in my filter should it suck it all up?

Yep - carbon is great for clearing the water.

My sand turned my water a sandy colour (the best to describe it). the carbon filter will turn it clear though, give it time.
