Hi, I've never had one myself, but my brother does (I have terrapins and asian water dragons), so weather I qualify to answer this I don't know? but here you go.
My brothers Blue Tongue is very lazy, likes to bury himself under his substrate (Coco Husk, or wood chips are ideal). Having said that though, he did escape from his viv once and my brother found him in his bedroom curled up amongst some cloths?! so they do get around a bit! Easy to handle, but do have sharp claws and they will try to get in your cloths to keep warm, etc..
They are great but very sensitive when they shed, so bet not to handle them, they should have a large rock in their enclosure to rub against to help with the shedding, but can also be ideal for basking.
Hope this helps.
