As far as I know...you should have 2 MALES to one FEMALE

well, I had 1 male and 1 female...but the female chased the male around until it died a few days ago

Whats normally recommended is to buy a group of them and let them pair off on their own then remove the others. I know this isn't always possible. (Lack of space) They are territorial with eachother. Usually females attack other females and males attack other males, but I've seen aggression between sexes as well. When I first bought some I got two females and two males and they paired off nicely. I think I got lucky.

I only have 2 males and have had no problems at all. I don't need the bother of adding females and have heard they could fight if I add more than these 2. All happy campers in my tank
