hi
i have just got back from the blue planet aquarium(a public aquarium in ellesmere port) it has been a great day and would just like to say the fish their are amazing there is huge cichlid setup as well as lots of other fw displays :fish: and interesting oddballs there were stunnig sw setups and of course there was the main attraction a 4.5 million litre tank containing sharks rays and other great fish that tank has a huge window lookin into it aswell as a tunnel that goes through it meaning you step onto a conveyor belt and go through the tank seeing all the amazing fish close up and even rite above you  or next to you and as you aet your dinner thair are more windows lookin from the restraunt to the 4.5 million litre tank
that was the third time ive been to the blue planet aquarium and it gets a 11 out of 10 for me

p.s can you imagine owning it to yourself  :*) if only :p

It is a great place place, isn't it! They could do with a bit of a warning when you enter the all around fish tunnel though. I wasn't paying much attention at the time and wasn't expecting to suddenly be surrounded by sharks and all! ... So I kind of got scared and ran back out :*) The other half laughed his a** off about it. Took him about 5 mins to convince me to come back in. Now, after having been there about 5 times, I must say I really love it there!

Btw, did you see the feeding display with the divers hand feeding the rays and all? If not, definatly try and catch that next time! It's great to watch

yeah its fantastic
it was the second time ive seen the feeding how cool B)

Its a great place and I've been INSIDE that tank looking out at people in the tunnel :hyper:

If you are a qualified diver you can just go in and have a go, but you can actually learn to dive in there with the sharks and all B)

Being in there when a large shark swims a couple of feet over your head really gets the heart pumping.

Oh I can't explain what it feels like.

As a diver I've learned a bit about sharks and their behavour, warning signs and the like, but you forget it all when you see one that close up, knowing that in a heartbeat you could lose a limb  But I'd recommend it to anyone.

They get you sifting through the sand trying to find old shark teeth, sod that, I was too busy watching them swim by. but some of the smaller fish are that tame, they swim under the sand trying to find food and you can actually stroke them like a dog :fun:

They are truly magnificent creatures to see, especially in their own enviroment

No, if you are diving and find any, you get to keep them :D, none of our lot of 12 divers bothered to even look  . I'm sure the staff find plenty when they are cleaning out though (imagine the weekly 25% water changes on that)
