Im having trouble with blue green algae. Its growing in my filter(Aquaclear , i dont use bio wheel as i have a planted tank). The water smells(like algae?). So fgar, it hasnt spread unto the plants inside. I also have brush algae on some of my plants I also have brown algaes and some green ones(I tolerate the green ones as they arent really much, and the brown one is understandable as this is a fairly new tank, and the plants are young and i do know that as my plants grow, there will be less and less algaes ). What seems to be the problem? Over feeding?. I always feed my fish about 3 times each day with no scraps left. I also feed my syno 4-5 pellets each night. I also know that blue greens are cyano's so its not lightting?

My tank: 75 gallon, Nitrate is around 0, and ammonia is 0.
20 zebra danios, 1 red tail, 10 toger barbs and a syno eupterus. Moderately planted.

Thnax.

I changed 20% water ever 2 days or so, and i gravel vac each time.

As far as feeding goes, you really only need to feed fish 2 times a day, and does the syno really need 4-5 pellets? I feed my pleco 2-3. If you want to get rid of the algae, get some black mollies. They feast on the stuff.

I'm having the same algae problem and am thinking of getting an algae eater that eats brown/brush/green aglae. So black mollie will eat all of these? How much salt do they need to stay happy?
