Blue Green Algae Outbreak

If you tap water has reasonable amount of nitrate then do more water changes.

My tap waters got near enough zero nitrate in.

Ive just bought some aquamedic chemical that claims to get rid of BGA, seems to be a 4 day course.

If this doesnt work, then blackout it is.

I just cant seem to understand why its all kicked off all of a sudden, nothings majorly changed in months on my tank.

even a small, undetectable ammonia spike could have casued it. and it spreads so fast that it seems to come out of nowhere!
good luck to you.

Thick bunch of plants can cut down circulation.
More plants, consume more nitrate, therefore the tank's run out.
Over time, organic waste and detritus build up that is leaching undetectable levels of ammonia.

Quick update.

Just finished the 4 day coures of Aqua medic antigreen. The result= #### all has happened.

Ive just got some Easylife nitro to try and get the nitrates up, will see how this works out.

Any advice on this product?

cheers
