I just bought some Dalmation Mollys and my Blue Gourami is constantly chasing them around the tank. I heard that the Blue Gourami is somewhat territorial, and he wants to be the only blue fish. Am I crazy or does he think that the Dalmation Mollys are also blue fish and trying to dominate the tank. Will this stop? Should I seperate the fish? Anyone have any ideas? Originally, I bought 2 Blue Gouramis, but only one survived after a few days. Apparently, the other was eaten, I'm assuming by the other Blue Gourami!! Anyway, I could sure use some help here!

Hi rromanchik and welcome to the forum :D

Before I make any comments, it would be most helpful if you would tell us a little bit about you tank like size, what other fish are in there, water parameters, etc.

What do you mean your gourami was eaten by the other gourami? What did it die from? How long was he dead in the tank?

I have a Blue Gourami that does that when I add new fish. What I do is the morning I am going to put in a new fish, I take the Blue out and put it somewhere else. Then I clean and re-arrange my tank. I make it really different. I go and get the new guys, add them and the next day or two let the new ones get acclimated. Then, I add the Blue Back and I have no problems with him. Hope this helps.
