Blue Dragon Cat

Title says it all really. This looks like a Knife-fish to me but the head is different. The head is more laterally flat than vertical if that makes sense. With a long slim body in exactly the same mould as a knife. Its a silvery blue as the name suggests. Cant find anything like it on a search on google, was hopin someone may recognise it.

I will try tio get a pic up later, they are selling these in Pier Aquatics in Wigan if that helps.

Just found this, It looks very similar to this. Dont think it is though

Gymnarchus niloticus

Looks like it in the head and shape, not convinced in the finnage though

Pangasius catfish (pangasius hypophthalmus) perhaps? But then again you descibed it as a knife fish so maybe not. The head is similar though

yeah, its deffo not a pang. The more I look the less it looks like a knife actually, although is similar to the above one I mentioned, I hope not though as that would mean a bigger monster than the pang. Its stumped me. The tail is a normal tail fin it seems. Its fins arent in good condition so will take a while to make sure he settles ok

Looks like one of the bigger Kryptopterus species or similar.

Edit: I'd say its going to be one of these, although admittedly i can't see any that are a perfect match

Phalacronotus bleekeri Think thats him. says 23" for size. Thats by far the closest to him

Yeah thats it m8. Cant really get any better pics at the mioment as it hasnt totally settled and still just hides out a lot. Got him eatin tho so looks ok. They had quite a few of them in Pier £22. Goes well in an oddball tank if you ask me, doesnt look much like a catfish really
