I can only find dried ones in petstores how can I get some that r kiking and alive

Freeze-dried foods are pretty good.

None of the petstores there have frozen bloodworms? Do you mean then where online can you buy it?

I didn't even know you could buy LIVE bloodworms. I thought they only came dried or frozen? I know you can buy live shrimp...

If your local pet shop is any good, they should have a freezer in the shop supplying fresh but frozen bloodworms which should at least give you a fresh bloodworm food source, however it don't know where you can get live bloodworms. Shops selling fish bait may be able to help you out  .

My LFS have a small container at the till which have live daphnia, small bloodworm and large bloodworm. it changes week to week with what they have. sorry no help whatsoever to you but i thought id say.

yes , thx , next time ill buy frozen bloodworms and ask them, I never ask them , I just dont see them on the shelves and think they dont have them

Just about every fish shop in my area has live food... the best one is one of the two Maindenhead aquatics, one of which has small and big bloodworms, daphnia, small and large shrimp, whiteworms and some other squirmy things that I can't name...

Just remember with live foods, anything that isnt eaten will endevour to procreate and survive, bloodworm will burrow into the gravel if left as will other live foods. If you do get real live stuff its worthwhile putting it in bit by bit so as not to waste or have a small colony of them growing in your tank.

Having said that, if you have fish that will dig etc they will root them out ;)

I wish... a small colony of bloodworms would be amazing! It would reduce my feedings :p

The bloodworms sold at bait shops are not the same thing as the ones at pet stores, which are actually larvae. The ones at bait shops are huge bloody worms about 8 inches long. A completely different species, and probably not the best choice for feeding fish. I'd be afraid of parasites being introduced into the tank. Plus, you'd have to make a big mess cutting them up. Sometimes they squirt. I'm only familiar with them because my dad likes to fish, and I've done my share of fishing with bloodworms.

Just thought I'd let you know. :good:
