Just given our fish their treat of thawed bloodworm (they haven't had any for a couple of weeks) and one of our long fin leopard danios has somehow gotten a bloodworm stuck in his gill. It's trailing out the side, but I can only see about half of it. He seems to be flicking a bit to try to get it out, but I'm concerned as to whether it could be fatal for him if he doesn't manage to get it out soon. Should I net him and try to remove it with tweezers? Would such an obstruction in his gill soon become deadly? It's only been there about 10 mins so far, but I wanted to be sure I do the right thing, whether that be leaving it or trying to remove it. Any advice?

Thanks!

My instinct would be to net and remove. But then you'd have to make sure you got it all out.

I really don't know though, I only got my first fish yesterday but you must be impatient for someone to help you. I hope they do soon!
