I have had a tank for 8 months now, all is well. I lost one guppie he got a huge stomach, them eventually died (thought she was pregnant). I have 2 female betas, they have done great the whole 8 months, now my black beta's has some swelling on each side of her body, just back behind her front fins and she looks "hunched backed" doesnt swim well and just hides. I heard this is due to air, and she is now bloated and will die.

Does this sound correct???

Tank size?, stocking level?, last water testing readings?, picture of illness?
Just so people can see what criteria we are looking at!

30 gal tank, no pics, and all the other fish are super healthy and active (neons, tetras, guppies, and a very MELLOW cichlid), thats about it, i do my 30% water change every month and never test my water now that the tank is fully established, i know its good. Its crystal clear, and i can tell by the health of the other fish.

I see your point, but i can tell you now mate that you will be asked time and again, any time there's a problem ;)

to be honest pictures tell a lot, especially to experienced fishkeepers - it would be a very useful aid to diagnosing the problem
