Bloated Silver Dollar

From the head on you can see theres a bulge on one side that could be eggs and they might have impacted. No idea though how to get rid of them if it is eggs.

Update: Well, she is worse now - lying on her side at the bottom of the tank and can't get up. Is this hopeless now? Thanks for all the infomation. We will feed the SD's better now. I feel terrible that we caused this and now she is suffering.

I put in Jungle Fungus Eliminator several hours ago because it's what I had on hand - it says it's good for dropsy and swim bladder. I do not see pineconing of the scales but she is very weak and not moving. Her breathing is very shallow. I can not get her to eat. I think it's too late. I use clove oil to euthanize. Unfortunately, I have had to do this before. I can't help thinking that she might have recovered in her main tank with less stress and a switch in diet. It seems like the hospital tank experience really made her stressed and not eat.

I'm sorry, you're right its not sounding too good. :byebye:

Even though it was tough on the fish to take her out of the main tank, remember you did this for the well being of your other fish. For future reference, make sure you have plenty of decorations and hiding places in your hospital tank, as well as a some beneficial bacteria. I keep an extra spounge in my filter to be pulled when I have a sick fish.

By the time I checked on her again, she was dead :-( I put had put lots of plastic plants in the tank and used Bio Spira for the bacteria - I had some left over. My normal QT tank was in use with new fish so luckliy I had spare 10g on hand. Hopefully the other SD's will be fine.
