I've recently seen threads asking about sand in particular but I believe there are several pinned topics that relate to one another very closely. Well the two sand pins are in two different forums so if someone posts links chances are pretty good that they only post one of the links about sand. I know it would be alot of work but I think it might be a good idea to meld the two pinned topics about sand into one pin...or perhaps put them both in the same place next to each other so that if you find one you find them both. Just a thought.

Good idea to group them togehter or blend them somehow. I noticed that recently too about the sand topics in particular.

These three topics have now been grouped into a 'Sand as Substrate' thread in the TFF FAQ section. They have been moved back to TCC now. SH

That's a good question and these pins existed before I got here. The question comes down to should there be pinned topics at the top of each forum or one single FAQ section. Then you run into what is a beginner FAQ and what is a TCC FAQ. Is 'Sand as a Substrate' a beginner topic, needing placement in the beginner section...or..is it a TCC topic in the TFF FAQ section. Will bring it up with the mods. SH

thanks steel...if I may ask why is this http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showforum=53
different from this

kinda confusing. sorry I keep giving you guys work...don't hold it against me =)
It's a summary of the articles and FAQs. It's in the common, used forum though, so beginners will most likely find that first, and then get the links to the articles they need. They don't tend to go to the FAQs first, in my experience. Of course, they don't always look at the pinned topics either...but don't get me started. :p

There are three way that I can do this for you AMS:

1) "merge" these two posts, in which case the later thread will appear lower down in the earlier thread in chronolgical order. This might make it 'mish-moshy': thread, posts, thread, posts, etc. Or:

2) cut and paste the latter thread and place it in the former thread. All the threads would appear 'book-like' but responding posts would not follow. Or:

3) Make a single 'Piranha Keeping' pin and place links to all your threads under it. This might be easier and will allow other's to post questions under each thread. Also, each time you want to add a new thread, it could just be easily added as a link and placed in descending order.

Let me know. SH

Maybe it would help clean up the pins a bit if the rest of the pins were grouped in this way. Like pins about cycling go into a thread, pins about algae and algae eaters goes into a thread, pins about stores and store locations goes into a thread. etc... It'd be a pain to sort it all out though...and you'd have lots of people complaining about not being able to find there pins... Maybe if it was done with the pinned topic compendium rather than actually moving any threads... I'm not sure.

Thanks for blending my piranha threads SH :good:

No problem AMS...seems you are the piranha 'delegate' here at TFf for now. lol.

As for the pins Torrean, or anyone, if you feel there should be some other condenses pins, feel free to put the links here along with what section you feel they should go under. As time permits, if they make sense, we'll try and clean things up a bit more. SH
