Hello,
I recently started keeping fish again. When I went into my LFS last week to add a few more fish to my tank I was drawn to the Platies. I remembered keeping them as a child and I immediately began to pick out a couple to bring home. Along with a beautiful sunburst and a neon black redtail I ended up with a "red tiger". Well, after looking online for this color I am 98% sure that it is a bleeding heart/mickey mouse X. This fish is yellow with red bars running vertical down it's sides and has the mickey mouse markings on the tail. From what I have read the bleeding heart color is somewhat rare. There were more of these fish in the store and I am wondering if I should rush back to get them... Or, if I should concentrate on raising any of his offspring.
Thanks!

I don't think they are rare just like all the other platies out there they are all mixed with colours and such markings. i would just breed them with micky mouse platies and see what comes of them.

I love platys. I have a Female Bumble Bee, A female Hifin, a female Panda, and two red wag female. then I have two male swordtails

I have seen them everywhere they are very common, they even have the Koi ones like that.
