Blau Lumina Overtank Luminaire

I buy off a company called EQJ-trading off ebay. Their equivilant unit will cost about £50 delivered, if you bid on one on a Saturday, when everyone is out for drinks.... :good: They deliver with more than ample packaging, and delivery is quick. Don't bother with weekday or sunday auctions though unless you are in a rush, or you will pay double that for the unit. :rolleyes:

The units are good, I haven't had a moments trouble with mine, and they have reasonable tubes supllied. If you need to change them all, you would still be like £40-50 up on the Blau Lumina units :nod:

I don't know how much space you have at the sides, but;

That unit is 100cm long and is montable on sliding brackets, such that it will fit a 92cm long tank :good: It would overhang by 4cm each side, so not a lot, but the tubes will finish arround there, thus you won't get much light going down the sides of the tank.

Hmm, I've got space either side of the tank so thats not the issue.
Its the whole: how it looks on the top of the tank, not sure an overhang is what I want. But then for a cheap light, can't complain I guess.

They are easy enough to sell on, if that makes you more tempted. My ex-supervisor bought a 2ft version for £31 delivered, and after 8 months use, he sold it on for about £150....

I can't see there being anuthing wrong with the Blau Lumina range on paper, but I have never used those units. If you aren't sure about the units EQJ do, I'd get a Balu unit, as they are being stocked by a very reputable on-line retailer, so if there are issues, you will almost definately get at least a full refund :good:
