Blast From The Past

hopefully look for them on here then as getting 6+ will start to add up. thought i would ask about the discus because was the first time i have seen some in person and they had some huge ones and are pretty dam gorgeous lol can cardinals take the extra temp then?

Only thing I would say is Discus need a lot of care, weekly water changes etc some people have had success with them in tap water other swear by RO or HMA water.

But both the Tetras you have are ideal tank mates - the Sterbai Cories are ideal as well as they all like the high temperatures. Blue Rams are an other common tank mates for them and the tank size here is a good minimum for a small group of them.

i got told in the shop that rummy and neons would die because the temp that the discus need is too hight? :S ye i do a large water change weekly and its has a ex1200 i just like the idea of having a few as they do grow large and would make a nice center piece fish

Not 100% on the Neons but Im pretty confident on the Rummynose being okay - from what I have read its best to get larger specimens than grow them on. But if your going down the discus route there are others more experienced than me so might be worth starting a topic specific to that :)

bit of an update not going to go for discus as being i will not be here all the time i would worry they are to hard to keep for my dad.

ive bought some new fish now my stock is

16 neons (really good deal 5 for £3) or 95p each normally £2 each
6 rummy nose
3 sterbai cory
1 dora catfish

i am thinking of getting a trio of apisto or rams LFS just got in some electric blue ones.

and also thinking about a group of angels for center piece fish. i would show pics but my SLR is at uni house

Could do the Rams and stick with the original plan of upping the temperature and lowering the ph like Discus the Rams have really similar requirements but dont need RO etc etc

Sounds nice so far though :)
