Blanching Cuccumber

ok, tonight im gunu give my corries a treat and give them some blanched cuc. However, iv heard you do it it the microwave but for how long? and also will the other fish eat it as well so should i not feed them the regular flake?

no need to blanch cucumber , just put it in raw and take out any uneaten the next day .

Depends on what your other fish are as to whether or not they will eat cucumber. I'd feed cucumber in addition to flake, I normally put a bit of lead through it and feed it at night (for my plecs) then remove in the morning.

I tried raw cucumber and such with my farlowella and he didnt seem to touch it... so I blanched in boiling water for 30 seconds to the point where it sinks itself. Now he and almost all of my other fish friends tear it up.... Even if I place it in at night, by morning there is barely anything left because the angels, gouramis and other cats get to it.
