Blackout

Had a really bad blue/green algae issue, so i have done a blackout. On the 3rd day now. When should i uncover?

Three days blackout is what we BGA sufferers usually go for.

Out of interest doesn't the bacteria need light as well?

Which type? There are millions of different types in our tanks... No benificial bacteria I know of need light, but I have herd sketchy reports that some disease caursing pathogens need light. These sources are sketchy though, I'm not realy inclined to believe that some disease pathogens need light.

The short answer is no
