i have a Black Shark in my tank its about 6 inchs now and its not eating properley as it just hides behind my bogwood in a cornor. the black shark is a pradetor as its killed 4 neons, and 3 oscars, 2 rams, at first i thought it was my air pump so i changed it. but today found out it wasn't my green terror that was killing my fish but my black shark. so i think i'm still unsure. but i need helep with feeding him as he doesn't come out much any ideas ?

What size is the tank, has his colour faded, or darkened,if he's been eating fish, he could of picked a desease up from the fish, can you give anymore symtoms.

he doesn't have any desease that i know of. my tank size is

Volume: approx. 70 litres
Light System with 1 x 15 W tube
JUWEL Filter System: Compact
Colour:Black
Size: 61 x 46 x 31 cm

he seems fine but just hides behind this bogwood

70 LITRES?!!!!!! ARE YOU SURE...thats a bit small..but i see CFC is reading so ill let him talk...

EDIT - from youre measurements that 86 litres btw

Black sharks (scientific name Labeo chrysophekadion) are not predators but they are territorial and are very aggressive, a 70 litre tank is no where near large enough to house one of these let alone with tankmates. They grow to around 20 inches in captivity and it will require a minimum of a 6x2x2' tank to itself or with just a couple of large hardy tankmates. They are omnivors that should be fed a varied diet of frozen foods like bloodworm, mussels and cockles along with vegetable foods like algea wafers, lettuce and spinach.

and also green terrors get to about 8'' which is also too big for an 86 litre tank

Volume: approx. 120 litres
Light System with 1 x 25 W tube
JUWEL Filter System: Compact
Colour:Black
Size: 101 x 46 x 31 cm

is that large enough as i was thinking of getting that tank to house him ?

Nope, think more along the lines of 600 to 700 litres and you are somewhere near the size of tank one adult black shark will need!

can he not just grow to the size of the tank anyway ?

no..fish do not just 'grow' to the size of the tank...they get stunted which means he will die....if you can not house both these fish i suggest you take them back to fish store and buy smaller ones which are more suitable to the size of your tank..otherwise your fish will suffer...

No, that is called stunting and will kill the fish. There are many theories as to how the fish will die but the most common one is that while the fishes growth is restricted externally its internal organs carry on growing and get crushed inside the body causing a long slow painful death.
If you are unable to keep the fish as it should be kept then the best thing to do is take it back to the lfs and exchange it for something smaller and more suitable.

then could u name the dimensions so i could get a tank off that please
as i don't want my BS or any of my fish to suffer

6 foot by 2 foot by 2 foot, thats 180 by 60 by 60 centimeters or 72 by 24 by 24 inches
