Can anybody link me to an ideal black sand for my ram tank? cheaper the better ofc.
Also roughly how many bags do you think i'd need to fill out a fluval roma 90 that's going to be planted.

Thanking you :good:

Maybe one of those and a 5-10 pound back?

I'm in the UK, that's cheap compared to what i've seen it priced over here though

If you are gonna have a planted tank, you might want to get some fertilizer and should go ask around in the Planted and Planted Tank Forum about which one to get.

Limpopo by unipac. You would get away with a 12.5kg bag for the 90 litre, and should roughly be around the £15 mark.

You could add some plant substrate underneath too, but it would only add to the cost.

Cheers mate, will look into this too :good:
I'm going to guess corys will be okay on this too? just best to check lol.
Only reason i want to switch is to make my panda cory stand out, they kind of blend into the colour of my playsand at the moment.

Yep, it's what i have in my tanks and my Bronze Cory are fine on it. They can sift all day. It's not as fine as play sand but is 'sifter' if that makes sense? :/

Lol, yeah a little .
Is it what you're using in your Fluval Vicenza 180 mate?

caribsea Tahitian moon is a jet black sand if thats the look you want. the unipac one isnt really true black imo.

the caribsea stuff is expensive, but one (if not the only) of the JET black sands. i added limpopo to my caribsea tank cuz i needed more, and its totally different, and not black. more grey....

so in short, dont mix them!

Yeah it's in my 180 Proxo. And no, it's not jet black, it's a mix of black, dark grey and light grey particles.

Thanks alot guys, both are nice so think i'll go for the tahitian for the 90L and eventually limpopo for the 240L when i get round to doing that tank out. :good:
