got 4 today.look really nice and fitted in with other tankmates really well.anyone else keep them?????????

Don't you believe that they are not aggressive. Mine startedoff ok when they were little but as they grew they started to aggrevate the hell out of the other fish. They nipped at most of them and i eventually had to remove them because of the stress they were causing. I only had 3 and was told after to maybe keep them in minimum of groups of 6.

Bingo.

i'll see how they go.i have 6 large pdessa barbs and 7 denisonii barbs,so i'll see if they keep the black ruby's in ckeck.so far,so good.

I have kept rubys on and off for years.
I found that having a couple of pairs or 2 males fine. Males will nearly always scrap between themselves and show the most amazing colours when doing so. They can show jet black with little reflective specs on the scales and a nice deep red head.
I have had no other problems with them nipping other fish other than sparring with other barbs that are similar eg. tiger's, narayani's, stoliczkanus's etc
