Just set up a new spawn BLACK PKS!

Eventually i would like to breed the blue out of them but that wont be for along time.

or maybe accentuate the blue.... for sure i want to get the white off of the vents

male

female

well well see the babys in 3 months hopefully

I like the white vents. My fire red VT boy has white tipped vents on an otherwise red boy.

I doubt that girl will help get rid of the blue wash. Is that right: wash?

I'm sure she's lovely, but the pics do not do her justice. :)

blue wash? idk lol. no i dont think shes going to help. but hopefully i get a few without so much blue.

ill get more pics of her, hopefully while spawning.

yes, the point of this is to try and get one's that become mostly black. If she has any black in here at all due to basic genetics, then it'll be like this since that black betta has black

blue blue 25%
black blue 50%
Black Black 25%

BUT. She does not probably ave black. But your black in the male betta seems to be dominate over blue, yet still allows it to show. I'd expect maybe 4-6 pure blacks from a spawn, 100+ of blue blacks, and then maybe 20 blues?

And i think the term "wash" only applies to red because of how dominate its color is once in the gene pool.

That's why I put the question mark. :) Nevertheless, when I was talking to lldjma about my red VT, and she mentioned that she didn't see any wash, I asked her about that and,I think , she said that wash applied to any color that overlaid or underlaid the dominate color. My boy is red, and she said it was unusual (which I have heard before) to get such a solid red with no wash. So that is why I mentioned it and in essence was asking if that is what is called a wash that you are trying to diminish.

Well, I suppose that too is clear as mud. :S

What is idk ?

well this was her dad.

hes a fighter pk and her mother was steel.

anyways hes refusing to make a bubblenest so im going to respawn and try again.
in a few weeks.

oh depends, i dont do this for profit but sometimes i sell a few to others on forums. but after i keep the ones i want for my self i dont usually have room for the others.

They are beautiful!

BTW - it's called irridescense. 'Wash' reffers to red. Blue/green/steel etc are reffered to as irridescent colors so when they appear over a color like this, they are reffered to as 'irridescence'. It's kind of like 'metallic' (eg: copper or metallic greens).

Good luck with the new spawn, gorgeous parents!
(jollysue, idk means I don't know )

Thanks Sylvia! Always looking for good info!

Thanks too naughtygirl. Once I got some sleep I figured it out. Half the time with those I am at a loss as to what they mean. 8)
