black neons

In terms of compatability, are black neon tetras the same as the normal neons? I'm getting angels, and I know they will most likely kill neons. Will the blacks suffer the same fate if I get them?

Hyphessobrycon herbertaxelrodi will reach 2", much bigger than std neons
I have a school of 10 with my angels and
have no problems with the angels trying to get them.
