Black Moor Goldfish: Eye Torn

Okay I'll make sure to look for that on my Betta. I'm pretty sure she's naturally like that but I don't want to lose another one of my babies. D:
And yes the filter spills out from the top.
And the Topfin food seemed to be okay with my other goldfish. Is there any way to test out the ammonia remover without risking my fish?
And it's okay. I like it when people are very blunt about it, because I don't want to be surprised with the death if it could actually happen. I mean I wasn't expecting my Black Moore to look like that, the site pretty much horrified me. I will do everything in my power to try and help my fish.

EDIT: So, my dad concluded that my goldie most likely died from the eye injury, althought from the white, he says the fish probably had Ick.
I'm pretty sure if his eye was damaged, I could have gotten medicine for Ick before he died, but I don't know what I would have done with him then, I can't seem to trust anyone at the petstore anymore, maybe take him to the vet, if they coulda done anything.

I think maybe he uprooted one of my plants which had a sharp base, and may have cut his eye on that?

My friend told me that Rainbow most likely had gotten Ick at the petstore. I think that could have been possible because there were about 30 Black Moore's in a 15 gallon tank. Some were also pretty big in there.
