Hello

Sorry if this has been discussed before. I bought a black moor around 3 months ago and now he is almost completely gold. I've searched online and some people say it's normal and others say it isn't. It started after we introduced a Red Cap Oranda to the tank, not sure if this is a coincidence or not.

He doesn't seem to be in any distress and his behaviour hasn't changed throughout this process. I have noticed from looking at other peoples Black Moors that he's not as slender and seems a lot rounder.

perfectly normal for black moores to go gold..poor parentage is commonest reason.

or age they can go a bronzey orange as they age, water ph or even food with spirulina in it , spirulina will encourage orange coloring

I too have black moor than gone golden, perfectly natural!
