Noticed my brothers black molly looking rather round in the stomach area the other night :look:
Tried researching what it could be and noticed on another thread on here, that they too had a poorly molly with possible dropsy ... and according to google it could be right.

Basically the fish has a bulge on the underside, and you can almost see the texture of its 'skin' - its had a white thread hanging out its back passage for 2 days now, and you'll find the molly swimming about at the top of the water, and occasionally hanging out on the gravel bed.

Ammonia 0.25ppm
Nitrite 0ppm
Nitrate 40ppm (Already start with 10ppm in tap water)
pH 7.2/6 (Same household water)

white stringy poo is a classic symptom of internal parasites. I'd look up those symptoms before jumping to a dropsy conclusion.
Its more likely to be dropsy if its scales are raised and looking pine-coney and it's having trouble staying upright when swimming.

Stringy poo is also classic sign of constipation. Feed some cooked deshelled peas. Any signs of flicking or rubbing.or spitting out food..that would lead me to think parasites. Epsom salts will help if constipated also. 1 tablespoon per 5 gal if using in the tank. 1 teaspoon per gal if using as a dip.
best of luck
Cheers
