Black Molly from Hell!

k yesterday i got a male molly named Spooky and he was very lonely so i got him a friend.....the pet store only had females....so i got one......Shadow....at first Spooky was very gentle nudging her and swimming with her but now about 4 hours later he's gone mad! chasing her and nipping her! i heard that odd #s are good but it's only a 5 gal tank....and there wouldn't b enough room! do u think he'll calm down or should i trade him for a female or keep him alone and put the female in my community tank?

It would help if you put another female in the tank with them. Usually 2 females to 1 male. And a 5 gallon tank is really too small for mollies. General rule is 1 inch of fish per gallon.

ya i know that i wuz gonna put em in my community tank.....(i have very small platies only 1 inch) i think i'll bring both back i just don't have room

i think he's calming down a bit.....he just acted up when i fed him.....territorial.....and right now the tank isn't 2 small because they r only about 2 inches long.... i still have 1 inch 2 go and plus it's not a permanent home!.....anyway the lfs is closed till tuesday so i can't bring em back till then.....or ever i hope it works out they're really pretty!
