Black molly fish, is she pregnant photo doesn't do any justice its a little more noticeable in person

I can say with 100% certainty that that male molly isn't pregnant. If you look at the shape of the anal fin, which is shaped into a tubelike gonopodium, he may be a Dad somewhere, but he won't be a Mom.

He is a strong, barrel chested guy though. Nice fish.

Always go with the anal fin for livebearers. They don't all have the shape a molly does, and you have to research each on its own, but most of the pet store species do. The white spot is probably what the anal fin is named after - the anus of the molly. It's a logical mistake if you're new to the fish, especially if you've looked at mbuna cichlids, who generally do have spots on the anal fin.

I love mollies, and that is a good little guy you have there.
