Cool SH! I've been comtemplating geting an urchin and was having a look at these fellas the other day and I hope you don't midn if I ask you some Q's. How big's the one you've got, does it dislodge your corals etc, does it do a good job on cleaning algae and has it eaten any of your coraline?

Hey Fish...the urchin has been doing very well since acclimating it. The one I have is about 2-3 inches across not measuring spines. Has not dislodged any of my corals to date but they are purported to do so. So far..it is eating my coralline algae. It WILL eat it off your rocks. Doesn't bother me right now as it is all over the place. I hear they can grow large. If it doesn't touch my macro or gets a lot larger, I may have to get it to a better home. SH

they grow large FAST!

took mine back after it seemed to double in size in a few weeks! and when big they will knock stuff over.

Yeah i saw some small ones locally and nearly bought one u ntil i looked at the display tank and saw the WHOPPER in there! It was a good 18 inches in diameter! Even in my tank i felt that this was alot of rom for 1 creature to take up and so i left it. Watch it closely SH, perhaps at a later stage you could swap it for a shorter spined species.
