Black Knife Always Hungry?

I've had my BGKF for at least two years now. He's currently living in a 125 gallon tank with 3 parrots (he has always lived with them, first in the 29 gallon, then 55g, now 125g) and the newly added 2 kribs that I've had for a few weeks.

In the past 6 +/- months he ALWAYS seems hungry. He is constantly harassing my parrots - chasing them, biting them, ripping some of their fins.. and he ends up with torn fins, too.

Am I not feeding him enough? He eats pellets every day, and gets bloodworms 2-3 times a week. Should he get them daily?

I think you really need to start varying its diet, which may be the problem, mine will eat whole or chopped prawns, lance fish, earthworms, mealworms, as well as a variety of frozen foods and a variety of dried pellets, including bloodworm and earthworm pellets.

Being housed with such boisterous fish like parrots are you sure its getting enough of the food?

If your bgk is ending up with torn fins you need to fix this. Either get rid of the fish that are bullying it or get rid of it. It doesn't take aggression well at all ime.
