hi all
i purchased a e/b male and a female blue gene i managed to get them to breed. i was delighted but as time goes by the b/g young some of them have turned out black. also the e/b have a lot of black going through them
is this somthing that one of the parents might be carying in the gene.
also all the young are slow growing.
any help would be great
thanks.

ps the fish are not stresed ill try and add a photo

tried to incert photo but cant.???

These fish change color a lot as they grow how big are they? Also you could end up with more blue gene fry and only a few ebjd.

You have to wait to see for sure what you have but it sounds like the black ones are BGJD not EBJD.

Photos would be nice.

You only get around 25% EBJD producing them that way, and they will be very weak.

The best way to produce them is via BGJDxBGJD.

thanks for that info
i think ill keep all the blue genes for breeding later
and yes your right about the eb male and blue gene female the youngsters of them are very week
here is a photo of the male
many thanks
