Black Ghostknife

a 75g would be fine for the BGK if you didnt get the pleco. besides...a pleco that size will make a lot of waste and not do much but poop. and i wouldnt get tiger barbs with the BGk, they tend to be nippy fish. think of a more peaceful fish that is big enough to not get eaten by the BGK. angelfish, discus...even an oscar once the BGK hits about 12".

and you get to get a new tank ASAP before you stunt those fish or give them ammonia posionening.
I have 1 black ghost knife, 1 green spotted puffer, 1 dragon goby, 1 shark catfish, 1 hifin spotted pleco, 3 tiger barbs, and 3 black skirt tetras. Everything seems to be doing fine together, no fighting, all fins still seem intact. But I was informed on the brackish forums some have to go, and some have to stay.

You guys are awesome, and I love you!

These setups and ideas are more than enough to get me started. Although my ultimate goal was to raise some fish to a large enough size to house them w/ Afr. Cichlids eventually. Of course this was all going off info from Wal-Mart and Petsmart clerks.

In the last few days I've brought a few different books on Cichlids, and done some research on them, and NOW I know they are way to aggresive to house w/ the BGK and Goby. So, I'm thinking of getting the 55gal to setup for the cichlids and returning all of the current fish I have to a local fish store owner in exchange for store credit.

Also, I've heard that the Wal-Mart brand setups are cheap and will give you problems down the line. You all seem to have used them, so, what do you think? Are they reliable equipment?

I've had no problems with either the tanks or the equipment. But other than that I can't say much about the stands... I use the tanks and equipment, its not the greatest, but it's a great start! I've had no problems.

Hopefully someone can come along about the stands.

That decision works to. :good:
In fact I think that is great decision. Might I suggest Mbuna cichlids, they are very colorful, active, and easy to keep.

Since then I've returned all the fish for store credit and now house only 4 fish. Who are a total of about 6 inches at most in my 10gal. They are a pair of 2inch pictus, and a pair of 1 inch bristlenose catfish.

Soon, I will be moving them all over to a 55gal... and adding cichlids once the bristles on the nose of the bristlenose have become a good size.
