hi all,
thinking of re homing my bgk as i want to try a different type of knifefish.
hes eating really well and had no problems since ive had him.
hes not shown any aggression in my tank and hes been in with rams etc...
wanting £15 for him and your welcome to have a look :)
located in leicester.

Hi,

I live in Leicester. I've got a 320 l tank atm with a mixture of big and smaller fish. I'm getting a larger tank for the bigger fish and keeping the smaller ones in the original tank. This should be fairly soon... I'm on the case! I'm definitely after a bgk for the bigger tank. Would he be alright with smaller fish at the size he is if they are out of his hair before he grows any more?

Cheers,
Matt

Hi mate, smallest fish he is with ATM is a ram, he hasn't bothered with them at all!
He's alright upto now, I just wanna change of knife fish and also my tank is getting too small for him!
What's the smallest fish you have?
We did have beyond and they went missing one by one, but I suspected one of the other fish!
Your welcome to have him!
Also got a common plec that needs a bigger tank too...?

Well apart from an expendable tetra (!) the smallest would be a couple of barbs that are 1.5" I guess...

Tempting me with the plec… I'll be having to do water changes every 2 days or something if I'm not careful hehe.

(I've got one nice big plec already and I hear two can be a little messy)

Lol, well he's roughly 10" and I've known him since I was 5 ish. So that's about 18 years lol.
Really done want to get rid of him but he's not happy in the 3 foot and I don't think I will be able to get to a bigger tank in the house we have just bought :(
I would be happy for him to go free if I knew he was goin to a big tank :)

Aww that's like a member of family! He'd definitely like it here - the other one certainly does - he spends half his time snoozing peacefully in the corner and the rest of the time "dancing". He likes algae wafers best - what are you feeding yours and the bgk ?

(o and loves cucumber and courgette)

Blinky (the plec) lol has the odd munch on algae sticks, but other than that he never really is seen eating? Maybe that's why he's on the small side? Lol.
The bgk is eating blood worm by the ton and also loves cichlid sinking pellets. Can't remember the brand!
He will polish about 5 of them off haha

wow :)

Whereabouts in Leicester are you? We'll be in Loughborough this afternoon but getting back home to Leicester early evening if that's convenient for you - otherwise I could come tuesday evening or next weekend?

We are in birstall.
Unfortunately however tonight is a no go as the mrs has a job interview.
Tuesday evening after 7.30 would be fine though :)

Ah brill!
Glad your happy with them :)
Just looking round at what small plec to get now haha
