Hi everyone, my dad just bought himself a black ghost knife cuz he was facinated by the way they swim. I am wandering wat kind of foods bgf's eat n water paremeters. He or she is in a community tank with the temp of 76 n ph of 7.2 is this ok? thanks for the help.

Well he's going to grow to about 18inches and eat anything he can. They do very well on bloodworm, frozen or live, mines also taking mealworms.

They aren't too picky about water paremeters, as long as extremes are avoided, though ideally they should have soft, acidic water. I agree on what paul has said about feeding, they love bloodworms, though will eat just about any frozen food that's offered to him. They do great community tanks when smaller, though watch outm they have very large mouths, and they can reach 2 feet in lenght, but usually only get to 18 inches.

thanx for all of the info. He has plenty of room to grow out and no small fish to eat so im not worried. The tanks is 6ft long n plenty wide enough for it. There is plenty of frozen foods here cuz thats just about all my discus gets is beef heart, blood worms, n brine shrimp.

Just noticed in your sig your discus tank is bare bottom, make sure the BGK has somewhere to hide though.

Yeah I love the way they swim too, it's pretty cool. I've never had one though
