Sorry this is not a real emergency with the fish but I don't know what to do with them . if anyone wants them and can collect from the newcastle upon tyne area they can have them
I was asked by a friend of a friend if I would like their fish as they wanted to get rid of them they wanted to move over to keeping frogs .I was told they were all compatible friendly fish They did say that ghost fish was among the fish but I  stupidley assumed that they were the small ones that you can see thru .They were going to kill them if they couldn't find a home (I couldn't let that happen)All the other fish are doing fine in with my fish as they were mainly cat fish and a  tiger and rosy  barb but I've had to put these 3 black ghost  knife-fish in the old tank as there are places for them to hide in that one  they were wrecking the planted tank trying to find hiding places .I'm going to try the local fish shop tomorrow they might  hopefully take  them ..Another problem I've got is I'm going to be away after Monday evening until Friday morning

MODS please move to the right forum

I don't have these but AFAIK wrecking your decoration will be the least of your problems as GKF are predatory and will take your smaller fish.

thanks I didn't know they were predatoty but eating the other fish isn't the problem as we moved them to a 3ft tank by themselves, but that tank is going to a new home soon .I just hate the idea of having to kill them if I can't find them a new home soon

Can you not give them to a LFS?

And they do need large tanks, and they are indeed predatory fish so they are best kept by people who can care for them properly.

So rather than putting them down, give them to LFS and they will have at least a small chance of getting a decent home.

Perhaps advertise for them to be given to a new home via, gumtree or local ad in paper etc

How big are they currently? I'm reorganising my tanks so might have some space for them if your LFS won't take them. I wouldn't be able to collect them for a couple of weeks though. If you're happy to hold onto them for a few weeks, then I'd gladly take them off your hands.

Panic over I was at my LFS as soon as it was open  and they have thankfully given them a new home.  They were quite large one was about 5-6 inch tail to head the other 2 slightly smaller .I'm a happy bunny now they've got the chance of a good home
