What tank size did you have it in?
Its going to be a 48x18x24 LxWxH
Will have to do a bit more research on them and tankmates first

its currently in a 5x2x2 but ive also had it in a 5x18x2. it had to be removed for its safety as the smaller tank contains some nippy cichlids....

these knife fish are very peacefull and get along with most fish except other knife fish. smaller fish like neons etc may get eaten but anything with a deeper body like colombian tetras etc will be fine.

they are stunning oddball fish but mine keeps eating the stingrays food leaving them nothing..... otherwise i would keep him/her

Hmm im so tempted but the only thing thats stopping me is the tank is mainly going to have cichlids, now that you said that I might have to leave it out.

it really depends on what cichlids you have tbh. i have kept it in with oscars, severums, diadema, rainbow cichlids etc and they all got on fine. the only reason i have not kept it in with my current cichlids is because the ornatums are becoming quite fiesty and are taking out tetras and attacking the rainbows which is fine as these are very hardy robust fish that can handle a bit of naughtyness from the cichlids and is the reason they are in together but the bgk will get torn to shreds in with them as they have quite big teeth....

if you have cichlids like trimacs, viejas, salvini, flowerhorn, jaguars etc then it may be wise to not take the bgk as these are all well known for aggression like my ornatums. most others will be fine though, in fact the bgk use to swim round my oscar almost tickling it with his tail and he was never bothered by it one bit and he was a big meany that wouldnt share a tank with anything......

I see what your saying, Its going in a tank with an oscar, possibly my 2 convicts if I put them back, a firemouth and a Jack dempsey, the tank will now be a 4x2x2 100G.
So it may work or may not

it should be fine with all of those. the only slight concern would be the convicts if they breed but then everything will be up against it if they breed i guess.

the JD and firemouth will be fine i have also had both of these in with the bgk, the fm is a juvi but their bark is worse than their bite. they are just trouble starters and not finishers, a bit chicken i guess......

4x2x2 will be fine
