Ok I just got my second Ghost fish both are 30cm long and I was told they originaly came from the same tank, they were put into a smaller tank and needed to be kept apart because of the smaller tank. I got the first one about 3 weeks ago and now got the second one. These two just keep going for each other it has now been two hours, they seem to bite but do no damage. Is this just teritorial and will they sort it out or should I get rid of one. My tank is about 756 liters.

hi luma,
a couple of months ago i had a black ghost. he seemed fine
at first , then after around 4 days he killed and ate the eyes
of my female red rainbow fish. black ghosts i found out
after are agressive even with there own kind, so i would
defanatly seperate them, the aquatics were i purchased mine
had the ghost back & gave me a credit note for both the
ghost & the fish it killed.

slt. :music:

Seems they had a bit of a argument about where who belongs were in the tank. The new Ghost fish which is the smaller of the two chased the other out of its hiding place. Both seem in one piece this morning so I will have a look see. I love these fish and hope they sort there crap out. I do not mind if they eat the smaller fish as long as its not each other.

You do know that you will need to get a much, much, much larger tank for them here shortly right. I'm talking like a 125g or bigger. They won't live very long in a small tank. Nor will they be able to set up house in a tank that small and live happily. Just something to think about. Rose

My tank measures 1800mm x 600mm x 700mm and takes approx. 750 liters. Would this be big enough? Or esle I will have to think about buying another. How big would it have to be?

So basically its a 6x2x2 in feet?

Nice tank i have one myself housing my RTC and large Pleco's :D

This tank should be fine but if your Ghosts are THAT territorial you may need a bigger tank or another 6x2x2 :what:

At least you have housed them in a decent sized aquarium ............. not like other people i know with these fish ;)

Keep us posted ;)
