I was thinking of putting a trio of black calvus, 1 male 2 females in a 3ft 35 gallon tank I know my ph is ok for these fish and I am able to increase if needed. I was wondering if this would be ok and if I would be able to add other fish to this tank?

I like it! Great fish, best tank mate choice would be a school of open water Cypichromis some stunning species out there and it would give the rocks to your altos. You could potentially do a sand dweller as well but I’d go for more Cyps

How many Cyprichromis would be suitable.

You’d want around six - try to avoid the jumbo species as they get a bit big for this tank but the regular ones will be 3-5 inches so really good size for the tank
