well i had just cleaned my 2 hamsters out, took bruce for a walk in the garden and handled ople, they are both syrian hamsters.and every thing was that night.

The next night i noticed bruce was no longer in his cage,at first i didnt worry i thought i would find him under my bed or some thing but no sign of him so i left his bed just out side his cage with some food and water next to it and hoped for the best that he would cum back but no luclk.

my mom come home and i told her and he said to me that she had heard my 2 cats making a lot of noise the night bruce had gone missing so that was that and i thought bruce wudnt come back and i havnt seen him since.

but what i find wierd i havnt found his body or seen any blood and the cats cudnt have taken him out side as they were in all night and we havnt got a cat flap.but would a fully grown cat eat a fully grown hamster whole or take chunks out of it first if you know wat i mean?
Any way he had a great life i hope with me and im rearly sad he had to go in this way and i just want other people to watch out with there cats and other little rodents not just hamsters so they too dont end up like bruce. :/

Sorry to say, but cats don't leave much, if any, evidence beind after a kill. I have seen my cat bring in squirrels and when she was done, there wasn't a trace of it left on the garage floor. They eat everything 9 times out of 10.

Hopefully though, he's just off on a Stewart Little type adventure...and is just rummaging around under beds, in a closet, or something.

Oh dear :/ So sorry to hear. Cats are all different and some will eat it entirely but others will just chew on it a bit. Hardly any of my cats have actually eaten any kind of carcass entirely (wild caught rat, bird etc.). But one did and he never left any trace (apart from tell tale feathers etc.).

However I've had many an escaped hamster (not because I was careless, but stuff happens when you breed them full time over years) and I even had one that went missing for several months - only to find it a long time later in the garage (quite far away from the house!) and made a fantastic warm nest in some boxes and raided the dogfood bin ! :X you should have seen it's "storage chamber" it was gigantic ! and the look on it's face when it realised that all the fun was over and it was going back into a cage :(
At the time we had 3 dogs and 2 cats (not to mention the zillions of neighbourhood cats!) and even so the little chap was fine all that time - even with the garage door open most of the time.
So you never know... he might still turn up. Though prepare yourself for the worst (that he might never).

I'm so sorry to hear that. :(

He might still turn up...my 13 year old cousin lost his hamster once, and they found him 3 months later when they were cleaning out the basement. No clue how the little guy lived....but he did. He's still kickin' today.

thx for all ur replies,im still checking every were he might be but no trace at all,il keep looking though and just hope for the best.

I am hoping for the best but I am afraid if you havent found him for now. The out come is more than likely bad. But I am still praying for the little fellow.. Lets keep our fingers crossed for the little fellow..

I've had a simalar experience a long time ago when i had a pet hamster, but it sounds like my cats r the exact opposite of your's because the only reason we found it was one of my cats was meowing it's head off. We open the door it's sitting on the washing machine terrified as my little teddy bear hamster raided it's food bowl  . I have to say that was 1 of the stranges things i've seen.

Some small animals have a very good defense aganist cats and dogs. For example my brother kept a pet European Green Toad as a pet for a couple of years  . If you don't know much about toads certain one carry a toxin on their skin that tastes very bad and if thats not enough and it still gets eatten it will make it's eater sick to there stomach  . So the toad "Gizmo" sits on the carpet the cats come up to inspect him then 1 by 1 they get the smart idea to lick it :X  . The next second the cat is 5 ft away from the toad standing there with it's mouth open because it tastes to bad to close it, and some even go away gaging  . After that there afraid to be in the same room as it, and they don't bother anything in are house even baby quails r given space.
All because of a fat lazy toad :) .

Sorry for the long stories and i hope y find the little guy i will keep my fingers crossed

Look around a lot. I had a hamster lost one time that I found in my box spring. I had to take it all apart to find him!

I hope it turns up but I am a doubting it now its been too long. And didnt I read where someone said they heard the cat making noises?? I am hoping for the best but I dont think it is going to happen...

ye my mom heard my 2 cats making a lot of noise in the middle of the night when he went missing so my first thought was the cats have had him but as i didnt find any blood or his body i was a bit puzzled as to what had happend to him and were he was.still have not found him but im still looking about and hopeing for the best. :/
