Birthday Betta

not struck on the golden colour. My boy is blue with tinges of red, behind his gills..he is so beautiful. The red one is probably beautiful as well but he is such a wimp he wont display..he swims off in the other direction...I just fed him a flake of dry food and the only way he eats it is if you poke the flake so it sinks down then he gets it!

Oooh that last mustard you linked to is gorgeous, super finnage. Remember he's 3 mos so his colors are going to keep getting darker/brighter, he will prob ened up more yellow.

Swet! Lucky you

That's what I was thinking too, but I wanted to make sure. That's great, I would love it if he got more yellow! He might be the one I pick... :D

Edit: Nevermind, I posted him on another site and he got pretty criticized...so it kind of swayed my opinion. This is SOOO hard...maybe it isn't a good idea. :X Maybe I should just throw in the towel, and get a horse bucket or something. They also said HMs will always blow their fins? Is this true? Gah, all I've ever had is PKs and VTs...I'm not up to date on all the fancy long finned ones.

That mustard is really nice! His finnage overall is not very balanced, but he does have awesome color. I personally wouldn't want to import a Betta... but that's imho ;)

Honestly, my boys are pretty much turquoise/emerald green, which is very close to blue... so I dunno if they're your thing. =0) I love them though! This is the best picture representative I have of my best boys, I have another boy who is far prettier with like perfect coloring and symmetry, but I haven't put them into the photo tank yet. They're still young, and have atleast a couple weeks to really start looking good.

I actually like your boy's, Splashluff. :D I'd rather go for one of them personally, since I am a little wary too about the overseas thing. -_-

I'd love to see a picture of the other boy you described, he sounds lovely!

Don't worry if not everyone likes the fish you do. We all like different things so make sure you pick the fish you really want - actually I think he has gorgeous fins, maybe not textbook 'show fins' ...

Personally, my fish tend to be long in the anals, and that is from top breeding stock! :)It doesn't bother me or those who buy them, but I have thought of adding some plakat into they to shorten the finnage if possible. And mine have the broader flatter HM tails, which I do like because they are sturdy.

I still think the mustard is gorgeous, I would take him any day and they are usually not my thing :))
Good luck finding one you like, lucky you are in the USA your options are a little broader than for those of us upnorth who don't want to cross-border order.

PS anybody finds a pair or purples, NOT lavendar or pinkish, let me know:))

I was settled on one of Wuv's kids, but cancer struck my uncle and a close friend, which resulted in me shuttling around between two houses to be with them. I'm at home basically on the weekends, when I have a billion other things to do, plus my big tanks' water changes. He was going to go in a small, non-filtered tank, so I wouldn't be able to do the frequent water changes and give the right care for him. I won't be getting any Bettas right now, maybe in the spring once this has passed. I have been assured my little guy isn't going anywhere, so it's possible for me get him or a brother later in the year, which is what I'll most likely do. Thanks again for that Wuv. :)

On top of all that, I just found an injured Cockatiel in the road today, so he's going to need lots of mending care. He comes home from the vet tomorrow, and I'll have to devote a lot of time to that, plus my horses as it's getting to be show season. Everything piles up. :X

Anyhoo, to answer your question, yes I decided but I won't be getting one in the very near future.

I'm really, really sorry Annastasia... sending good thoughts to you, your Uncle, your close friend, and the injured Cockatiel that you so kindly saved. Best wishes for everything ^.^

Thanks Splashluff. :)

The Cockatiel actually died overnight. :( At least I gave him a chance though.
