Biorb Ceramic Media

Hi folks

I have a 30 litre birob - with the usual biorb ceramic media.

As this media isn't very nice to look at I'm considering adding the nice looking pebbles you can buy.

But I know the pebbles don't do the same job as the ceramic media - so I need to keep this in the tank too.

I have heard of people doing things like wrapping the media up in a pair of tights - things like that - which I thought was a novel way of keeping it all together but out of sight (if then hidden behind/within something.

Does anyone know if this would actually work? Would the ceramic media still do its job?

the media should be fine in a pair of tights as long as water can flow through it.

cant you just put a small layer of stones around the edge and on top though....?

yup, thats all i've done on the baby biorb. a few pebbles on top, just the one layer.

tomove it all about too much ou'd need to have a fairly big fish, bigger than you could get in the tank...
