Hi, I' have an astablished tank with a fluval 107 filter, all the sponges have been in for months, my top tray has the fluval media, which I want to change to biohome, if I completely changed over the media could this cause my tank to crash, even the sponges have been in for months.

Why would you want to change media? Rinsing in aquarium water is all that is needed. Regardless, if the sponges are well seeded and the tank is not overstocked, then it should be okay. For safety, monitor parameters for a few days and continue with water changes, which can be increased in frequency/volume if needed.

I concur with Fransisco. Leave the sponges in, keep a close eye on things for a month or so while the new media gets established, and you should be fine.
