you wont be able to feel the suction.

it works by causing water to rise up the tube (lifted by the air) the water then gets sucked in at the bottom.

i hope you not using it for a large tank - Looking at the piccy It'll do really small tanks only.

I am using for extra filteration in my 2.5 gallon tank. So you are saying I shouldn't be able to feel the suction but if I can't feel the suction then how is it do any filteration at all. Sorry I am very confused if you could explain it a little better I would be very grateful.

Thanks

Austin

Sponge filters are a very gentle filter, causing a minimum of suction & water disturbance. This is what makes them great for fry tanks. Due to having such low water flow, they are not very good for mechanical filtration, but excellent for bio filtration. I have somewhere around 10 of them running, you won't feel any flow, but they do work.

Ok thanks now I understand, I have four running in my large tank to put in my 10 gallon tank to raise the guppies in.

Thanks a lot

Austin
