Hello,

I am 33yrs...Have two children.....After Leaving work to study earlier this Year..Decided to take up a hobbie..Always loved watching fish as a child (my dad used to keep tropical fish)...So I purchased a 10 Gallon Tank....Thought best to start off small...I added Two Mollies....6 Phantom Tetra....1 gibbiceps Plec...African dwarf Frog ....2 Diamond Sharks.

Set up another 10 Gallon tank (Donated Bonus!) for the female mollie (pregnant) transfered Mollies....(she had 28 fry).......I have now give the majority of fry and female mollie to my local supplier. Added to Tank B Siamese Fighting fish , Coolie loach....transferred African Dwarf Frog....5 Phantom tetra (1 Died) Sailfin Mollie (male) and total of 7 mollie fry, All Happy in Tank B .

Ok Tank A...Having problems...which i am thinking is due to not having a undergravel filter....Fish content; gibbiceps Plec, 2 Diamond Sharks recently added 1 Albino Oscar (small), Bumble Bee Catfish, Yellow Apple Snail, and 1 Crab......Plec seems to be suffering with fin rot and have noticed fungus on the plec around the mouth.....Sharks are Flashing and have noticed scale loss....have done a 30% water change and added finrot treatment......have taken two of the live plants out (leaving one) upped the filtration by adding another 50w filter(donated with Tank B).......any suggestions would be appreciated...So thats the story so Far unhappy fish in Tank A...I have purchased a 5ft tank and in the process of having a stand built for it.

Thanks for taking the time to Read hope to hear from you ttfn x

well i`d hurry up with that 5 foot tank as the albino oscar and that plec will both grow over a foot very quickly.

Next we need to talk about stocking...
The rough guide if one inch of ADULT fish to every gallon of water. I.E in a 10 gallon you could have 10 1 inch fish, however when it comes to larger messyer fish such as oscars and plecs and many other chiclids you need to allow more along the lines of 10 gallons each (but not one oscar in a 10 gallon tank (for most large chiclids 55gallons is the BARE minimum)

Also do you have a test kit?
you need to be testing regularly for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and also keeping an eye on the PH.
how long has the tank been set up?
how did you cycle the tank?
