Since I love fish keeping so much and ive decided that these little 10 gallons and 20 gallons just aint big enough, i agree with people now when they say zebra danios need a 4ft, my fish swim to one end of the tank to the other side in under 2 seconds, i need a bigger tank - so im building myself and sacrificing a whole room for a massive 900g fish tank.

i just wanted to ask - can you keep many cichlids that may fight in a smaller tank such as a 55 gallon and keep them in a large tank since they'll have space?

And with this tank im not just going to put large fish, im putting a high stock number of smaller fish, Another question - what kind of filter do I need?

is this stocking list compatible?

5 Tiger oscars
2 Albino Oscar
2 Green Severums
3 Blue Acaras
2 Common Plecos
4 Silver Sharks
2 Talapias

2 Green Terrors
5 Blood Parrots
30 Tiger Barbs

If your serious dude, have a read of this thread, hope you got your glasses handy  and a box of kleenex... to wipe away the fog

Was just about to link that thread also nelly! +1
As for stocking I'm sure someone who knows better will be along shortly to answer! Looking forward to seeing this!

5 Tiger oscars
2 Albino Oscar THIS IS POSSIBLE, BUT YOU NEVER KNOW
2 Green Severums
3 Blue Acaras
2 Common Plecos
4 Silver Sharks
2 Talapias
1 Jack Dempsey
2 Green Terrors BASICALLY AS WITH ALL CICHLIDS YOU WILL NEVER KNOW UNTIL SUCH TIME AS THEY FIGHT
5 Blood Parrots PERSONALLY I WOULD STAY AWAY FROM BLOOD PARROTS
30 Tiger Barbs MIGHT BECOME A MEAL FOR OSCARS AND TALAPIAS

Personally if your going to spend all that money doing the tank i would look for rarer varietys,

For example instead of Blood Parrots go for True Parrots aka Hoplarchus psittacus,

big catfish and rays with some rarer big cichlids would be good in a tank like this.

Agreed all but im not much of an expert on rare fish and dont know much about them or which ones - could i have a lil more info on the types or rare fish?

You shouldn't be considering any schooling fish in a group of less than 10: I'm talking about the Bala (silver) sharks here. If on some off chance a tiger barb-like fish would work (I think tiger barbs would be dinner), then you'd be wanting at least 50 of them as you have the space and 30 wouldn't really be visible in a tank that size.

Blood parents are unlikely to work because they are bad at eating, swimming and fighting, ignoring the cruelty of breeding them in the first place issue.

You would have a sump for filtration and heating.

Alright thanks, would an ID shark go or isit to big?

Before you get anywhere near thinking about stocking, have you thought about the financial cost of this project? What about the engineering aspect? Water changes? - hope you aren't on a water meter!

forget the fish possibilities until you are very clear you can actually afford and manage the thing.

also, if my maths are correct (and they rarely are), 900gal is around 4 metric tonnes. You really want that much water in your house?

Ive gone through everything, all the possibilities and Im pretty sure I have enough, ive been saving ever since i was 16 for this and i never spent that money - This is my budget for everything including fish - 25,000

probably to much but i want it to be the best.

Your dimensions give me 1082 U.S. gallons. You might want to think this through a little better. It's a logical progression though. I mean who didn't start out with a 10 gallon then immediately upgrade to a 900 gallon?

Ive said this so many times i havent just started, i started when i was much younger then stopped but ive started 4 years ago - im ready for a massive tank now.

saved money runs out eventually, you'd need a constant income to cover it longterm?
