We would have to see a pic to determine if the fish is gravid (full of eggs) or has something more serious like dropsy. Are the scales sticking out?

My female fighter is the same, was originally a lovely lilac colour but not her whole body has no colour what so ever, her fins have still got colour but that is it. She never swims around anymore, just hides behind the filter all the time, to check if she's alive still we have to put our finger next to her to see if she reacts to it, sometimes she does, and other times she doesn't. She just can't be bothered and isn't even eating. The front of her body and face are really big, she's like a ball. I feel so helpless.
We have just had our water tested and the ammonia levels were really high so I think this must be why, alto all the other fish are fine now, just the fighter thats bad. Could it be something else other thsn the ammonia?
